1989 s10 blazer 4.3 tbi. On my way out of my daughters school today my belt started squeaking real bad at startup. After a few feet of driving I smelt the belt burning and had smoke everywhere. Long story short my belt snapped and the ac compressor is the culprit. It locked up. Only a year old at that. Has anyone here ever bypassed the compressor with a belt? I'm in the middle of moving and I'm strapped for time. Need a quick fix for now until I can get settled in the new house. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Update
I noticed that the parts house sales belts for the first generation with and without AC. Will the non ac belts work or is it a different setup?

Thanks bud. Didn't really think there was a big difference between the first and second generations. Guess I'm just going to bite the bullet and get the ac pulley and hope I can find time to put it all on.
