Default Need Help with Codes

Hi there
I just brought a 2000 LT and I noticed the service 4wd light was on and then it would go off as if things were ok - Also it is hard to engaged 4wd.
I had the codes checked and it came back with (B2725 Active Transfer Case Mode Switch Fault). Can some Guru please advise how to fix this?

This should help:
B2725 Explained

This typically will be the switch, but the diagnostic chart shown in the link above will go through all of the components that can cause this condition. If you have access to a junkyard, the switch shouldn't cost all that much to try a salvaged one...

Let us know if we can help further as well as the outcome!

Thanks , That's awesome
So is the switch something I can fix or is it a throw away and replace item?

You can dismantle the switch. Without knowing if the switch itself is what is bad and if it is, what inside it is causing the fault, there is no way to know whether it is something that you can easily repair.

pretty much electricle stuff like that you might as well replace. But if you can and if you got one use a tester and check to see if it is the switch or something else. We did this with my dads doge plow. thought it was stuck up but it was only the switch in the cab

Hi guys
I think it is the actuator that is faulty but only a loose wire as sometimes the Service light goes out and everything works fine and then it comes on again and the auto feature doesn't work.
Can someone please explain or post a document explaining how to remove the wiper type motor on the transfer case as this could be the problem but I can't figure on to remove it.
Cheers
Craig
