Default need help with cooling system please

Problem 1 i got a 01 blazer 4 door about 2 months ago i noticed the temp gauge is going crazy it just rises and drops way to much and way to frequntly for example it will be at the line b4 half and out of no where drop to the quart way mark then it will go back to normal also i just noticed some times at the light it will go to normal and when i take off it will drop but sometimes at the light it will drop insted of rising but it never will go above the normal operation temp i was thinking temp sensor or thermastat but wanted to get other opinions b4 just droping money on parts that are fine porblem 2 also about a year ago it start doing this thing that when you go to start it (dosent matter weather its cold or hot) it does nothing no sound but all light and you hear the fuel pump kick on and if you hold it on the on possition for a few sec's or keep turing it on and off it will start could this be a starter or neutral safty switch problem? if you could help with either problem that would be awsome thanks

Problem 1 sounds like you have air in the cooling system.

Problem 2 sounds like the classic failing ignition switch.

Use the 'search' function for things like 'air in coolant', 'purge air in coolant', 'ignition switch', etc. We have quite a few discussions on these subjects.
