Default Need Help in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

Good morning everyone. I was wondering if anyone here in the forums lives in Southern California & maybe knows a good mechanic? Or if anyone has any suggestions on how to find a good mechanic? I dont want to take my Blazer to just anyone & pay for things I dont need especially if it doesn't help the problem.

I just barely started driving my 2000 Chevy Blazer again back in February of this year & I've only had her for a few years. About six months ago I had my radiator replaced because it wasn't holding any coolant at all. About 3 weeks ago my Blazer started to overheat and was smoking because my thermostat was stuck shut. I have a new thermostat to put in this morning and I have everything to flush out my radiator. I replaced my spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor a week ago because it was misfiring really bad & throwing a lot of codes.. Now the misfiring is gone but she doesnt sound very good at all.

I know she needs a lot of things checked and possibly replaced but I really need someone to run a full diagnostic test & not try to squeeze me for everything I have. I have no problem fixing it myself but I just kind of need some help in the right direction. I feel like there's probably more than one thing going on and I would rather fix things now before they get too bad.

On mechanics I would suggest that you talk to your friends and coworker for mechanics that they trust. You tube for a problem that you are experiencing is a good source that I use a lot.
I also had trouble and had to change the radiator. Afterwards I was still loosing fluid and found that my intake gaskets where defective. Engine never really ran real good power wise and had lots of miles. Changed timing chain and made a lot of difference. But I did pull the engine to do so. Good luck!
