Default need starter help before I crazy!!!

I have a 98 blazer. my starter hasnt worked right since I swapped the motor out of a 98 s10 2wd. the problem is the starter bendix will kick out and hit the flywheel but wont turn over. sometimes I get lucky and it does srtat. the starter tesred good at autozone. just to clear thisnggs up its not the clicking coming from the fuses under the hood. I have tryed shimming the starter with the universal kit started off with the smallest one and worked up the the biggest and now all three shims are on it and it still does this sombody please help I dont even like drive it to town because if it just clicks I have to pop the hoood and turn the motor over manually then try to start it and hope the staeter is lined up

You shouldnt need shims except in rare cases,Check your teeth on the flywheel and make sure they match and mesh in with the tetth on the starter. Also does your engine use the small or larger starter that maybe whats causing your problems.

The starter should be the small one,Too me it seems like a flywheel problem, have you switched them?Even though the starter may test good the test only checks the motor itself not the bendix. Its possible its not extending all the way out. There should only be 2 external bolts holding it to the engine block. Also look at the wear pattern on the starters teeth they may be worn enough that they are not meshing into the flywheel.
