Default New distributor crank no start 1994 Chevy s10 4.3 v6 tbi hei vin z

I replaced all plugs wires engine coolant temp sensor cleaned out the fuel pump housing I put a new pump in about 2k miles ago and new distributor cause my old one went out I’ve taken the valve cover off cause I can’t fit my finger over the cylinder hole so I can see if both the valves are closed which means it’s on compression stroke I believe and I turned it from turning the alternator and giving the belt a little tug till the timing mark lined up with 0 on the harmonic balancer I put a screwdriver in the cylinder to see if it was really and it was but I saw videos saying line it up with the engraved notch on the balancer not the first timing mark but the second I read but the second isn’t tdc but I’ve dropped this thing in and out so many times can anyone point me in the right direction?

It is common for the harmonic balancer to slip position as the truck gets older so that check becomes less reliable.
