long story short, throwing a code that my fuel injecter is going bad,,, parts place guy said the one in the 2001 models were crap, and they came up with a new design? Anyone know anything on this? Is it worth replacing??

Lucky for you 2001 was the last year for the old design. I also wasn't ware of a code saying "fuel injector fault".
