No gears, whirring sounds, reverse still fine
Pre:
2.8V6, 700r4, 2WD s10 blazer
123k on original engine
Same with tranny...
Story:
I was driving home from work about a month ago and the tranny just gave out. It kinda made a weird noise then just not move. I could put it in reverse and be fine, I shut it off, checked the fluid (red and full) then limped it home (going forward in 1st). I let it sit for awhile then, put some tranny stuff in it and I drove it down to my local smoke shop (roughly 1.5 miles) then it made a whirring sound and I stopped. I have NO idea. TC? TV cable? Clutch(s)? Or is it a lost cause. I found a 700r4 out of a 92 caprice on CL for $150, would that work?
Tl;Dr
Gears hardly work, reverse fine. Makes a weird whirring noise once it hits running temp.
Thanks
