Default np203 ?'s

is there a kit to mate a 700r4 to a np203, and if so what would have to be changed out i.e. drive shafts, crossmember, etc. i want an overdrive tranny but would like to keep the 203, any help would be appreciated

why do you want to keep the 203. that thing is a boat anchor, maybe look into getting a np205. its a cast iron gear driven case. much stronger and its part time.

but if you really want to keep the 203 all you need to do is swap out the rear outshaft out of the 700r4. which means basically disassembling the whole transmission. the mounting surface on the th350 and 700r4 are the same. im guessing you have the th350. if you have the th400 it might not be possible as there is a different spline count

i did this swap but the other way around. had a th350 with a 203 behind it and wanted to run a np208 from behind a 700r4. thats all i had to do was swap out the rear output shaft. local trans shop did it for $100

At this point, still being in Iraq, I'm just trying to come up with different options. If I could find a decent priced 205 or 208 I would probably go that route. Guess I will just wait till I get home and decide, but definetly going with a 700r4, Thanks buddy

700r4 and np 208 combos are the most common set up. Every junkyard will have them. Be safe out there

To mate the two the best way possible, you would need to get the TH700R4 conversion tail shaft to match the output shaft length of the TH350. I will be doing this to my 700R4 when I build my NP203/NP205 doubler.

So I dont need to change out any drive shafts or yolks on my diffs? I have a 12 rear and Dana front. I have found a TH700R4/NP208 out of a 86 Blazer. Will I need to get the shifter linkage also? I think once I finally get home I'll be able to picture all this better, being this is my first K5. Thanks for all your help so far
