Can't believe I was this stupid.
I have a 1998 GMC Jimmy with a 4.3L that died. I removed all the parts I thought I would need for spares and what not and threw out the block.
I picked up another engine that came from a pickup which was the same year, and went to put it in the Jimmy, this is where I realized my mistake...Oil Pan was different...shoot... I will end up getting another oil pan from the wreckers but my question is this.
Will I also need to change oil pump pickup tube also? or will I get away with just replacing the Pan?

4wd pans are deeper, if the engine you got was a 2wd the pan is not as deep, so you need a different pick-up tube for the deeper pan. Not sure witch way you went as you did not tell us if it is 4wd or 2wd ? But yes the tubes are different. Hope this helps
