Hi new here so I'm hoping this works. I have a 99 blazer two door sport edition. Has the 4.3l v6. The past few days I've noticed that after my engine warms up and I slow to a stop at a light or anywhere my oil pressure gauge drops from about 40-50psi to about 20psi but as soon as I take off the pressure goes right back to 40. it doesn't die and my oil pressure light doesn't come on there actually doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it except for the occasional bottom out in idle. I just want to know if this could be my oil pressure sensor or if I'm going to have to tear apart my engine any help would be much appreciated. Thank you

 

GM specs a minimum oil pressure of 8psi for your engine, so nothing to worry about. A drop at idle is not unusual.

20-25 psi at idle is normal. Mine is around 25ish.

 

Mines around 20psi at idle on a hot day according to the gauge... climbs over 40psi once i pass 1k RPM.

 

If your oil light is coming on you might want to check oil level if its fine id replace the pressure switch.
