Default Opened her up!

Okay so saturday i took the motor out to my uncle's Father in law, he is a professional engine builder. So we flipped the motor over, opend the oil pan. ALL of the bearings are gone. crank is so bad that it cant be turned (fixed), we found out that the problem that caused it was a little spring inside the oil pump got shortend from compression, and so oil was shooting out of the overflow valve and not going the right direction, causing friction and all the bearings to go out, im rebuilding it fully, getting a new cam, crank, all bearings, lifters, valves, valve springs, gaskets, oil pump, and oil pan, new pistons and rings, cleaning the injectors, and cleaning the whole motor to make it look brand new. after it is all said and done i will have pics posted as soon as possible. any imput or advice would be great thanks.

Well just got my DISCOUNTED price on all the parts and instalation. $2,200. so im most likely not going that rout. Right now we are looking everywhere for another motor. and if we cant find one in a couple of weeks then we will rebuild it for the 2200. god help us lol, thats alot of money.

UPDATE EVERYONE! we finally decided that we are going to take the blazer and motor to this place by my house called Acurate Engines. They said they will fully rebuild the motor, and flush the tranny and do everything like install it in the truck to make sure it runs. They said they will do everything for $1900 out the door. seems like a pretty good price to me seens how i dont have to reinstall it.

Blazin_Jason will become famous soon enough

I would do a v8 swap at that cost.

agreed. find yourself a nice LT1 or something and drop that in. I just saw a '69 Pontiac 400cid motor for sale for a little over $1000! instead of rebuilding the V6, get a bigger, better motor for the same price.
