Oxygen sensors ( How many and where ? )
Hello,
I have intermittent oxygen sensor error codes :
System Too Lean (Bank 1)
System Too Lean (Bank 2)
On a 4.3l V6 Vortec Blazer 4X4 4 doors year 2000 :
1 - How many Oxygene sensors are there ?
2 - Do you know their OEM (chevrolet) references ? To order the parts
3 - Are they differents ?
4 - Where are there exactly located ?
5 - Where is exactly located the MAF sensor ?
6 - Do you know the reference chevrolet of the MAF sensor to order ?
7 - Where are specialy the oxygen sensors bank 1 and 2 ?
Many thanks for you help and your comments.
Regards.

There are three oxygen sensors on the Blazer:
1) Driver side downpipe, near the wheel well.
2) Passenger side Y pipe, right before the catalytic converter
3) Right before the muffler, between the Cat. and Muffler.
Bank 1 is the driver side sensor, and Bank 2 is the passenger side one.
From numerous sources, including this forum (swartlkk), you don't need to replace the one south of the cat, unless of course, you are throwing a code for it. Save yourself the Fifty Dollars (American)!!!
As for reference #...? I just replaced mine w/ Bosch #O2S-1948. It is a universal part...just look for a heated, 4 wire replacement. Bosch or AC Delco will do (depends on availability). All three are the same!!!
Your Mass Airflow Sensor is the metal piece on your intake between your airbox filter, and your throttle body. If you need to clean it, remove it from the intake, take the torqs screws out, sink the two parts in a big ziploc baggie filled with rubbing alcohol. Let it sit for an hour, take it out, place it on a towel. GENTLY, with a Q-Tip ear swab, clean the platnum connectors. They are Brittle!!!
You aren't throwing a MAF code...You probably don't have to order a new MAF sensor...cleaning it ever so often usually does the job!!! Plus, they are like 200 dollars + !!!

Great information my error is bank 2 sensor 1. There are two sensors on bank two so which one is number one and which is number two?
#6
Vehicle info?? Regardless, the one closest to the engine on the passenger side is B2S1. The one further back is B1S2 or possibly B1S3 depending on the year.

You said,The one on the driver side throws the code then replace it? doesnt that mean your cat is clogged or something? If you had the cat cut out will that fix the bank one senser
