Default P0330 Random Misfire

I have a 1999 Blazer (4.3 csefi) and I have a code P0330 Random Misfire. I believe it to be caused by a bad EGR valve because of the terrible gas smell. If any one knows how to test this I would appreciate any advise, thanks, D.

Fuel smell + random misfire MIGHT point to fuel injector spider issues. Click the link in my signature for the Tech/diy section and look through there for anything relating to your problem.

Another thing you can do is take off the intake hose from the TB and open the butterfly, look in there for "washing" or clean spots/stripes in the lower intake manifold that could indicate fuel leaking from the spider.
