"p1406 egr valve pintle position circuit" (96 jimmy 4.3l v6)

Got this error a few days ago.

Any idea what it is?

Also noticed the engine RPM's going down a bit when it was cold out. for example, I would be @ 1,500rpm's and it would randomly do down to 1,300 or so...kinda scared me.

Only happened twice when it was cold out...seems ok now.

side note: if you know where to get it let me know. and how to replace it would be great also.

On yhe front of thr motor slightly to the right it has two bolts on it one on eachside and it has one wiring harness. It is for the most part round and the harness plugs in on top tell me if you found what im talking about
