I have a 92 s-10 blazer 4x4 4.3l not sure on the tranny but I have a donor blazer (93) same motor but has the push button 4wd and not sure on what tranny is in it but if it is a 4l60e how would I go about to get it to work in the other (92) blazer


is it possible to do? please help!!!

So you wanna put the 93 tranny into the 92 blaze.

I think they added the 'e' somewhere around there...4l60 (which is the same as the 700r4?) up till 92 or 92, then it was the 4l60E.

You would need to get a stand alone controller ($$$). Find yourself a non-"e" transmission to use.

 

Yes, the '92 is a 4L60 while the '93 is a 4L60E - '93 was the transition year.

Like Swart said, you want a non-'e' tranny.

4L60 == 700R4. There were modifications towards the end to increase reliability, but they are essentially the same.

You can use the 4L60E, however, the controller for it is $600-$800 depending on which one you decide to go with. I was looking at putting a 4L60E into my Chevelle and decided fairly quickly that I would be using a 700R4 if I wanted an overdrive automatic.
