Default Possible tranny issue.

99 Blazer zr2 with auto 4x4. I've had it since the spring...the led's for the 4x4 options have never reliably lit up. Normally when i start the truck the 2hi light is on but it ususally goes out after a few mins. The only light to reliably work is the auto 4x4 light..when i push it it stays on until i go back to 2hi. The fact the leds do come on means of course they aren't the problem... so i'm either dealing with a wiring issue or...? What tests should I do? I suspect one should be to test with a multimeter at the back of the 4x4 switch panel?

I have a loud fuel pump so it's tough to hear anything when i push any of the buttons. I suppose i could go to a gravel road to test if all the 4x4 modes work.

Can people tell me how their 4x4 panel led's work? When you're driving in 2hi does the 2hi light remain on all the time? Same with the other 4x4 options... should my lights be staying on?

Yes, the amber indicators should stay on constantly.
