It definitely looks like someone tried a LOT of stop leak product.

Yeah, I thought so too, that's why I didn't even take a chance with the radiator even though it looked pretty good, I replaced that to. And we now know why the shrewed basds had that 12# cap on it, so it wouldn't build up to much pressure. I should have picked up on that when I bought this truck @ the dealership as is (should have sent up a red flag), but I'm to hasty in buying when I needed a vehicle, after my kid smashed his. Thus, I got screwed ! Anyway, hopefullythats all for a while!! (long while)
Oh, 1 Thing I did when i took out the air box, at the end of the box intake horn, being so small, I took that off, and I got a 3" hole saw and drilled out the side of the box to give it some more air, plus I got a k&n in there. Seems it's getting alot more air and bit louder when you hit it !

It got louder, but that is basically it. I did a little dimensional study of the intake path a long while ago. The largest restriction is the throttle body. The tube is a resonator of sorts which cuts out "unwanted" intake noise. Hopefully you drilled out the front of the box and then made up something to still allow it to pull through the hole in the core support. If not, you are sucking in a lot of hot air and just negated any increase from air flow.

I see what your saying to a point but, allthe air intake is about 4" even the throttle body, and my thought is the air box (feeding the box) how is the 2" horn enough air to feed, the 4" piping? Yes, I know it is acting as a muffling effect, I did drill out the front of the box (just enlarging the existing hole to 4" w/a hole saw) And butted up a piece of 4" flex aluminum in the boxinto the radiator support.More like a ram air affect.

Not to split hairs, but the throttle body is no where near 4" diameter. You have to measure the plate itself (75mm) or rather the minimum diameter of the throttle body (which is smaller than the plate), then subtract the lost flow area that the deflector takes up. THIS POST got cut off from the forum troubles awhile back, but I had calculated the stock 5/8" tall deflector to restrict the flow by 25-30% (part that got cut off in that post).
So long as you kept the air box sealed, you should be alright. Having done this on a number of vehicles, I still doubt you gained much but sound.

Well, I know I'm getting more air,the volocity of air while driving gives it a ram air effect.Anyway, no harm done. Anyway, what are thought's on a Cat back exhuast? I got the original, soon I'll be replacing it. Think that will wake it up a bit ?

The worst that will happen is you get a nice rumble from the exhause and spend a little money. I am sure you could net a few ponies though.

Ok, back to square 1, temp is about 160-170. I know it's air when I race it the temp guage drops, comes back to 160ish. I've been doing the bleeding w/ vehicle up on a ramp (pass side). I've done this 2-3 times now to no avail, is there another way to speed this up? All new hoses (heater, bypass too), radiator, cap, water pump, new 195 stat, ect.... I'm just gettin a bit fustrated with this issue ! Anyone, please ???
Would cutting in a flush T w/ clamps help by loosing the flush cap slightly on the heater hose? Being that it's very close to the same height as the top of the radiator?
