From Push Button to Manual..What Kit is Best?
Ok..I'm tired of playing games with my push-button4 Wheel Drive...Who makes the best kit for a manual conversion??I have a 97 ZR2 with the 5spd manual trans...give me a good "old school" lever and hubs..anytime!![my '73 Powerwagon] Thanks for thehelp!! TR

GM makes hte best conversion. Swap the t-case out for a NP 231c. It can be found at oyur local salvage yard. Cut a hole int eh floor and your ready to go, you will have to do something with the puter on your truck though. It will look for the t-case unless you get the puter reprogrammed.

You can always create your own lever with a wrench and some welding...the 233 can be manually shifted too. Then either buy the posi-lock cable for the front axle, or swap in the Bravada 1 piece passenger side front axle shaft for the cheap $$

Thanks for the replys and ideas!! I read ZR2 USA's thread and got the idea..but would a cable work better than a vaccumn selinoid for the front end?? and where would you hook the cable? TR

The best would be swapping out the passenger side front axle shaft with one from a Bravada...then your front axle is engaged all the time...also they can be found for ~$60.
