Default Quadrajet Model?

I have a Qaudrajet M4MED Carb. made by Rochester, not Carter, and am trying to find some more information on it.
Casting number:17085227.

So far all I have been able to verify is that it IS an M4MED.

1985: M4MED electric choke carb with dual capacity pump solenoid used on Federal trucks and various Canadian vehicles.

Now since the first letter is not an "E" does that mean it is not computer controlled?

Have you looked at the info on The Carburetor Doctor's website?

Yeah that's where I got the "1985: M4MED electric choke carb with dual capacity pump solenoid used on Federal trucks and various Canadian vehicles"

Kit #
"F11: brass float for all non-computer controlled M4MC, M4ME, M4MED, M4MCA, M4MEA quadrajets and M2MC/M2ME DualJets from 1975 to 1990."

Leads me to believe that some of these models were "also" computer controlled. Or am I wrong?

Confirmation from Carb. Doctor's this casting number is not computer controlled. They have a totally remanufactured one for $325. $25.00 core for mine. I figure I'll have them send me the reman and then fool around with rebuilding mine myself. As I've never done a complete "rebuild" on one of these I figured it was safer to have one that works before I start drilling on mine.

Does $325.00 sound about right. Carb doctors seems pretty reputable so...

It's been a loooong time since I rebuilt a carb (around 35 years), but I remember that I used to pull the Holley on my 1970 RoadRunner, do a rebuild kit, and reinstall it in about 2 hours. Don't be scared of doing it, just follow the instructions in the kit. Be sure to do a thorough cleaning of the carb during the rebuild.
And, considering today's prices, $325 sounds fair.
