question about knock sensor circuit

Default question about knock sensor circuit

Concerning my vehicle, if the conditions exist to throw a knock sensor trouble code and SES, does the ECM respond by pulling the max amount of timing?

It does not fully retard the timing, but it does go to a predetermined, 'safe' timing table.
