I just pulled off the orginal harmonic balancer on my 2001 Blazer 4.3L, and I noticed a round pin installed on the old balancer? The Dorman balancer doesn't have this pin in it? Does the pin need to be removed from the old one a put into the new one?
I believe this is called a "front groove pin".
I wonder if it a balance weight? Don't know if it's needed on the new Dorman.
Thanks in advance!

I ended up installing my Dorman balancer w\o the front groove pin from the original balancer. I think the pin is a balance weight for the balancer itself. The Dorman balancer has partially drilled out 1\4 diam. holes (closely together) on the backside of it. The GM balancer does not have these holes. I believe the partially drilled holes on the Dorman serve the same balancing function as the front groove pin the GM balancer. Besides, the front GM groove pin doesn't fit into the Dorman balancer (it's fits too loosely and falls out). Anyway been driving the Blazer for week now w\o any problems.
