We had a new radiator put in our 2001 Chevy Blazer about a year ago. The radiator cap doesn't seem to fit very tight and has started leaking. I purchased one from Amazon that said it would fit this model and year, but it's too small.
What measurements or part number should I use to find the right fit? Pic of current cap attached.
I had a similar issue with a replacement radiator a while back... Couldn't find a replacement cap to fit the aftermarket replacement radiator... I managed to deal with it for a while, long enough for the side tank on the radiator itself to crack, so then the cap was the least of my concerns lol. I ended up replacing the radiator with a Liland brand full aluminum radiator (no plastic side tanks) and an OEM replacement style cap fit right on it.
Sorry that I couldn't be of much help, just thought I'd share my similar experience.
I appreciate the input! Had I realized they were installing the plastic tank option I would have insisted on something different. I didn't notice it because my boys drive it.
Honestly, we have poured so much money into this thing that I can't afford to replace much more than the cap at this point. Hopefully I can find one that fits and works long enough for them to get more reliable transportation so we can get out from under this money pit! Although I will say, we have learned a lot trying to keep this one running!
