Default Radiator Cap Smoking.

Okay so I took the cap off and filled both, tank and radiator, with coolant. I drove about 30 miles this morning and it didn't over heat, it did run hotter than usual. Usually it runs at 210 this morning it was running at about 230. When I got to work and turned the car off I saw some smoke and I popped the hood and it's coming from the radiator cap.

Sounds like the cap is just leaking, as in it's not getting a good seal to the radiator. That's the only reason a cap will "smoke"

Default Update.

Thanks man, checked the cap and it was dry rotted. Replaced it, refilled with coolant and everything seems good so far.
