I've got an 89 chevy k5 blazer. I need to replace the rag joint in the steering. I haven't done this before so I was wanting to see if there are any helpful tips or advice on how to replace it, I've already got the part just curious to see if it was just an easy unbolt then bolt back in or do I have to pull apart the whole steering column to do it, any help would be nice thank you.

well, i know its not your blazer, but i have done this on an 96 f150 and a 95 mustang.
both ends of the shaft to be unbolted. one under the steering column and the gear box.
should not have to remove all of the steering. be sure to secure your wheel so its not out of wack when you reconnect it.

i dont think you can unbolt these columns under the dash like on the new cars, its all one piece.
from what i remember and man has it been a while yeah you just unbolt the two nuts on the one side of the rag joint then you have to take out the bolt by the gear box. there will probabbly be some prying going on as its a old truck. pretty sure the nuts threaded part that the bolts go on too are different sizes to prevent you from bolting it on 180 degrees off
