Rats chewed a wire in half, what is this part? Why is my blazer deing?
So, i had some rats move into my 2002 blazer xtreme, while i had to park it in the back. They chewed this wire in half and i cant figure our what it is, plus im in the country and cant drice it into auto parts store. Here is a picture. Also, weeks later after the rat attack, blazer was running fine but started to die mid drive. Just complelty turn off and steering wheel would lock up too. Not ideal in traffic. I would throw it.in park and it start and go fine. Now it started idling poorly and id drive and it would die but not turn the whole car off. Somtimes it will idle in park for a long time and not die untill i start to try to drive. So i looked in the engine and saw the wire that has been chewed in half, i also bought all the lucas products to run through it since its at 180,000 miles now. It has been the most reliable vehicle ever, never any major issues. It got me from sanfransisco to ohio and back last winter, no problems. If anyone knows what this part is, maybe it could he ccx causing the issues. That be an easy fix. Thank u. Located top of the engine in the back alittle to the left.

Reason: For got to add what year my blazer is
Looks like the MAP sensor. Best bet would be to get a new pigtail (plug with wires) and splice it in. You should be able to get it from a Chevy dealer, auto parts store, or even online (Rock Auto or Amazon).
And that will definitely make your Blazer run badly.
