Default remote oil filter line bypass best short filter?

i did a remote filter bypass on my '96 4.3. wanted to know of a good filter(short filter). to use and if it needs to have a bypass valve. i don't know if the only bypass valve was in filter head which is no longer in the system.

My understanding is that there is an existing bypass valve still in the block. The 4.3 has one internal to the block, as well as the bypass in the remote oil location.

As for filters, I believe the short filters used on the Sunfire/Cavalier will fit. Same diameter and thread as the normal Blazer filters, but shorter.

Correct filter is Fram 3980

DO NOT CONTINUE TO DRIVE IT UNTIL YOU HAVE VERIFIED THE FILTER STUD IS CORRECTLY INSTALLED, RISK OF FILTER BLOWING OFF:

Just screwing the filter tube into the block on my 95 4,3 left only TWO THREADS HOLDING THE FILTER ON!
