What do I need to build a Chev 383 stroker for my 92 Chevy truck?

I used to daydream about building a 383 up for my chevelle. It's a 400 crank like was said. It has a 3.75" stroke, the 350 crank is 3.48". I found a decently priced forged rotating assembly on ebay a few years ago. It claimed to be balanced, but I think I would pay to have a machine shop double check it!

Whatever you do, paint the heads orange, and if you ever race anyone, tell them it's a 305, LOL!

You need a 400 crank and balancer, the crank machined to fit and either different rods or pistons. I used stock rods and pistons with a higher wrist pin hole. I had it in my 91 S10. Some would believe it just had a custom exhaust.

Step 1: CLICK HERE.
Step 2: Read.
Step 3: Do.

There are much better options out there than using a 400 crank, but none are cheaper than that. The easiest (and I would argue best) option is a balanced rotating assembly from any one of the performance outlets (either catalog or online).
