Default Reverse to Drive with pedal to the floor

As the title says, I done so when I went muddin. Now I am suffering. We droped the pan to the tranny to change filter and found stright black and burnt smelling fluid. Also found some metal shavings. SO im geussing the tranny is gone seeing it doesn't shift outa first gear when in drive. No winning nosies or anything. Before I go and buy my new tranny for a wopping 50 bucks, What are some other things I can check for it not shifting like that?

.....you toasted it. No two ways about it. Black fluid and shavings is bad times. I say if ya only gotta pay $50 for a new trans just jump on that. No sense in puttingband-aid on hosed transmission which may end up costing more than the new one in the long run.

yeah agreed, you murdered your tranny. And for future reference don't go from reverse to drive while flooring it.......you are just looking to destroy any tranny you put in there.

I dunno... I did that to my old Lumina Z34 when I was stuck in the mud... A good 15-20 shifts later, and the car moved 4 feet... But the transmission still pulled and shifted like new, and the fluid didn't smell burnt at all, lol.

And that's the 4T60-E... Basically the FWD version of the transmission the Blazer has...
