Seized 4.3L V-6
My daughter's S-10 Blazer quit running recently as she was driving down the expressway. It's a 1995 with a 4.3L v-6 with 160,000 miles on it.
The motor has always run strong, and we had just completed a full tune up.
(i.e. plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and also replaced the fuel pump)
The motor would not turn over after it stalled. I replaced the starter, but it didn't help. Ended up towing it to the local repair shop for analysis beyond my capabilities.
The tech called me yesterday to inform me that the motor had seized, and would not even turn over even with everything disconnected. There were no external signs that would give any indication of why it seized, and the mechanic didn't think it was worth tearing it apart at this point.
Has anyone ever had a similar experience? The motor gave no signs of wear, did not use or leak any oil, and seemed to be running fine. There were no loud noises that I am aware of when it quit, my daughter said it just hick-upped and stalled. (she is a teenager however so I'm sure the radio was cranked)
P.S.
Does anyone no a good compatibility site that might tell me what motor I should be looking for to replace this fuel injected version?

You have a CPI motor. Pretty much any CPI motor will work, but you may have to swap over covers, etc depending on what ECU your '95 has (there were 3 different versions in '95).
I would have the tech pull the plugs and see if one cylinder is full of fuel. It is possible that the FPR let loose and filled #4 and/or #6 pistons with fuel, locking up the engine.

I appreciate all the feedback.
I'll definitely have the tech pull the plugs as I am still unbelieving that a seemingly good motor would get fubar so quick.
I'm going to have to take a hard look at the cost of the motor replacement.
We only paid a$2000 for the vehicle less than a year ago, and I'm not sure I want to put another two in it.
