Default Serpentine Belt squeal wont go away!

Hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum ill see what y'all think...

I've got a 2001 Jimmy with the 4.3L and a/c. The serpentine belt in the truck has been replaced 3 times now since I got it. when the AC or heat is on will make a harsh and quick squeal when I accelerate from a stop sign or red light. When the engine warms up, or after the quick second after i begin accelerating, it does not do this.

With that, after a couple months with a new belt, while the serpentine belt squeaks-not squeals- all the time whether the AC/heat is on or not. I've replaced the tensioner and idler pulley and I know for sure the tension is good on the belt so I'm not to sure what's causing the problem here.

AC and heat work great in the car. If I were to replace the belt again now, the belt would still squeal with acceleration with ac or heat on but the constant squeaking would come back eventually.

Apologies for such an excessive post but its just a difficult problem to explain... thanks for any info ya'll can provide!

try spinning all the pulleys when the belt is off could be the alternator or another pulley you missed tricking you into thinking its the belt.

2 other things i have seen that will cause your belt to squeal is a power steering pulley that is not pressed all the way onto the pump. if its just a hair off the side of the belt will rub on it causing it to squeak.

second one is check your harmonic balancer (Crank pulley) and see if its separating. ive never seen a s10 do it but we actually had a Chrysler pacifica and dodge avenger in the shop the other day at the exact same time for this reason. basically the rubber in the middle of them falls apart causing it to wobble and the belt will make noise. so visually inspect it and run your engine and look at it to see if its wobbling at all

thanks a lot for the help.... learned that it is a bad bearing on my interior alternator pulley causing my belt to wear down over time, definitely an odd problem but its fixed up and all is well
