Default Shifting into neutral

I have a 1997 blazer 4WD. Just recently my blazer shifts into neutral after 2nd gear. If I let my speed come back down it shift back into 2nd gear. I can't go much faster the 35 mph. Even if I shift on the column the same thing happens - after 2nd gear it go into neutral. Any ideas? No service or check engine light is on. Any help is appreciated.

Is there a way to scan the computer and get some info back on my issue if there are no service lights currently on?

I did a ton of research but still unable to find a solution to my issue. Another member here seemed to have the exact issue as I am having but he never reported back to say what the fix was. Can anyone help??

Very well could be. It doesn't do it all the time. Seems like after it is running for a little while the issue goes away. But I haven't been driving it all that much due to the problem.

If 3rd gear is gone or is about to go what can be done to fix it?? New trans?
