Default Shifting Linkage with 350 turbo tranny on 76 K5

Over the weekend I put in a new tranny pan and attempted to change out the seal on the shifting linkage.. When loosing the nut to remove the shifting arm the truck had switched out of gear and went into nutraul. Not seeing were it was originaly positioned on the teeth I put it back where I thought it would be positioned in park. I put the pan back on and put the linkage back together and now I only have park and then it skips reverse and nutral and then goes directly into drive. Not good.. the other problem is the tranny is staying in the lower gear and not switching to the other 2 gears.. I know it's a alot but wanted to see if I could get some advice before I take it to the tranny shop... thanks..
