Default Smell of gas in oil- First gen

I was just doing a random check of fluids today and noticed a smell of gas in my oil. I have heard this could be the spider assembly or the FPR? Is this correct?
The truck runs very smooth, no missing what so ever. exhaust smells pretty strong, but I was thinking that was from not having a cat.
any light on this would be sweet. Trying to get everything covered before i start taking 300 mile trips to the cabin this summer.

Also, the owner said they replaced the spider assembly and nut kit not to long before we purchased it, I will have to go through the receipts and see when that was exactly. But he did not do the FPR when he was in there doing the spider assembly.

get a fuel pressure gauge and do a leak down test or just remove the upper part of the intake , takes like 30 mins if your slow or nvr done it and its a 12 dollar gasket. while your there take off your egr valve and clean it and get a new gasket (the one with the screen) it may not be bad but since your that far in and its way easy to do then id do it.

if your holding the proper fuel pressure when your running and it doesn't drift away after its been shut off then the fpr or nut kit/spider is good and you must find it elsewhere

What else could cause this problem, if it is not the nut kit/spider or fpr?

Which spider assembly should I get? I am reading that I should repair this asap, I do not want to destroy my engine from fuel being in the oil. gonna change the oil tonight.

Well, I found a receipt (the previous owner kept every one) and the spider assembly was replaced in 2010. So I am leaning to the fpr, going to do that on sunday and see if it helps.
