i was driving down the road, and my car like went out, the transmission went out for a few seconds, and the people behind me ere like damn your **** is smoking and something fell out

so i pulled over when i got the chance, and i couldnt figure out what it was.
my stepdad thinks that its the (transmission front gasket). i know for sure that its the transmission, bc its leakin trans fluid, could this be a costly fix?

Yea, that could be a pretty costly fix. Have you looked to see where it's leaking from? If it's just your pan, you should be good. But if you cracked any part of your transmission, you're screwed. My only question at this point would be-what caused it to act up in the first place? Even if it is only your pan that's leaking, something caused it, ya know?
