So Lost...Someone Pls Help
Ok I need some help cause this ghost in the system of my truck is kickin my tail end.
I have a service engine light on in my truck, reads a random misfire code, but reverts to the crank sensor, we changed the shim, the code changed, but its still a random misfire
shes hard to start and she idles rough, but we just did the plugs and the wires and like i said before the codes kickin back something regarding the crack sensor. idk what is going on with my baby truck but shes been thru enough already...
someone pls help me

Sorry for adding some non-sense to this post but when I read " idk what is going on with my baby truck but shes been thru enough already..." I just started laughing. Not because of your truck having problems, rather everyday I say to my blazer, " I just spent another 50 bucks on you and that's all you get!" Honestly, if I didn't have something to fix, tinker or just outright replace I might get bored. good luck~
Hmm starts hard, idles bad....ever check the fuel pressure, or even if the pressure is good the fpr could be going bad or your injectors im pretty sure 02 had the old poppet injectors that would definatly cause a random misfire. Just a thought
I would check the egr for rough idle problems and of course the three sensors for continuity (tps, iac, and map) all those affect idle. Coil could be bad so check that to I usually like to look for spark color, seems to work for me. (blue or white= strong spark) (anything else= weak spark)
I would stick to basics first. If the cap and rotor are bad, it will cause all of what is being described. I bought a truck that had "so many problems it wasnt worth fixing" for $500. I tuned it up and I have been driving it ever since. (Cap rotor, plugs and wires.) The shop that condemed the truck had determined that the ENTIRE injection system had to be replaced. Nice. Before you start dumping money into the truck based on the codes you pull, PLEASE verify the basics are in line. (Fuel pressure, Ignition system, mechanical condition of engine.) Collect all that info, and you will have some good hard facts as to what is wrong with it. Good luck!
