Default Some kind of rattle

Hey ya'll I have a 03 blazer 4x4 4.3 vortec that makes a little rattling sound when you accelerate but it only makes the little rattling noise between 1500 and 2600 rpms, It does not do this when it idles or if you push the gas when in park only when the blazer is in drive and you are moving, it has done this for a little while and is more irritating than anything does anyone have a sug on what it could be.

When going down the road it kind of sounds like it is coming from the top of the motor in the middle if that makes any sense to you or anyone? sorry its not to specific as far as the area but I would say that about were it is coming from.

Common problem. It is caused by the balance shaft. CLICK HERE for a thread on the subject showing a short explaination of what needs to be done.

In the thread linked to from the one above, the OP stated that he changed the oil to a specific brand and it 'fixed' the noise. While I doubt the problem was cured, it may have masked it. It was most likely a thicker oil that quelled the noise for the time being, but may be worth a shot.

I just got done reading those other posts and if I am going to fix it I don't want to just mask it, I am looking for something to do on my blazer anyway (I like to take things apart and put them back together like a little kid) so I think I might take a weekend and try it out, thanks for the info.
