Okay so i have a 1983 V6 4x4 drive 2 2.6L engine, and one day my speedometer just stopped working. i went to replace the cable for it, but it seemed like it was still working. i noticed that where the cable mets my transmition that there was another cord connected to it. im not sure if that is the problem of if there is just something else wrong with it and i have no idea. everything else on my gages is working, but not even my mileage counter? works. i guess part of that is because it still shows that im going zero miles an hour. any advice would help.. thanks.

 

Could you snap a picture and post it of the connection to the transfer case?
