RE: digital speedometer
mine didn't work when i bought my truck at first then all of a sudden it started working again and hasn't went out. im not too sure what goes on in the digi gauges to make that stuff happen.

RE: digital speedometer
When I bought my first Blazer (a '91) the only digital thing that worked was the speedometer, then after a year or so it started to act funky, then eventually quit so I had to guess how fast I was going! Found out that basically the whole digital dash eventually gives up, but they can be rebuilt and replaced for about $300 (at least that's what the place in my area charged). Wasn't any sort of fuse problem or anything easy, they just wear out. I don't know what a dealership would charge to do it, and there was only one private shop in my area that could do it. They send yours in to be rebuilt and then replace it with another rebuilt one. I never did get it replaced because I got sideswiped by an Illinois state trooper and ended up junking the poor thing....

RE: digital speedometer
My cluster went out on my 94 a few months ago, started with the speedo and eventually the entire cluster. I went on ebay and bought the replacement reconditioned motherboard for ~ $60 and havent looked back. Good luck.

RE: digital speedometer
i have a digi dash that started with the speed-o as well and eventually lost the thermostat out right, but i can hit the dash and have the speed-o back. ive also messed with the brightness dial without care and got it to work. but they probably do just wear out, ive tried cleaning and tightening the main connection and some other random crap and that got it to work for about a week and then out they went. ive also heard of the rebuild kits going for around 250+ and rebuilts like 500 includes core. but im so used to feeling my speed rather then seeing it. i might just keep it this way.
