Default Stalling?

92 Blazer with 4.3 W motor. (CPI) 180K+ miles, injector unit replaced about 40K miles ago. Fuel filter and tune up less than 20K ago. (Plugs, filters, oil change)

The problem I am having is.... the truck stalls at odd times. Sometimes rolling down the road, speeds less than 35mph, frequently at stops, but, NOT all the time. It may go days without stalling, and other days, if I stop, or even slow for a corner, it quits. It will start right back up, if I step on the gas.... If I don't, it will not start, most of the time..... other times, fires right back up........ I am really confused here, SEL is NOT on, and behavior is extremely random, doesn't matter what the weather is, or anything at all, although, I think it might be more prevalant on hot days...

Any ideas?

Default RE: Stalling?

Was it stalling before you replaced these parts? If not I would suggest rechecking your work.

If it was stalling before you replaced these parts it is possible that it could be the fuel pump getting ready to go. That would explain why it is erratic, it has not completely broken yet but is starting to go.

Also if you can, have a diagnostic run on it and see if it is throwing any codes.

I would agree, sounds like a fuel pump.
Have the fuel pressure tested. TBI are around 15psi, everything else is around 60 psi to start and it drops by about 2-9 psi to run.

How long before the fuel filter was changed before this time?

Default RE: Stalling?

Stalling just started recently. Ran Great for almost a year. (about how long I have had it...) No idea of maintenance history prior to that.

I replace the gas tank shortly after I bought it..... Leaked like a seive.... Guess I get to go into it again. Will check pressure first though.. Damn.

Thank You for the reply's.
