starter compatibility
GM uses a couple of varieties of starters, some larger then others, and the mounting bolt locations vary, or the type of tranny varies.
Compare the two side by side.
Look at teh overall size.
Look at the mounting holes, some are straight across and some are diagonal, some starters will fit both applications.
Then look at the location of the small hump on the side of the starter.
Are both vehicles auto trannies or both manual trannies. The flywheel/flexplate teeth count is different between the two. A auto tranny starter wont work in a manual flywheel and vice versa.
