Default Swapping a 94 4.3 and trans into a 95 blazer

Ok I have a 95 4x4 blazer with a blown motor and I found a 94 jimmy for pretty cheap that has a good motor and trans. I want to swap the 94 jimmy 4.3 and trans into the 95 blazer. Is this possible? I'm searching but not finding much info, any help is really appreciated. Oh and they both have the orange vortec intake.

um, im not sure, the 94 will be running obd1 and the 95 runs "obd 1.5" so it may work. i would just check your electrical connectors on the tranny and engine and make sure all of them match up (make sure all of the connectors are the same shape). and then i would look at the tanksmission linkage and see if that looks the same.

The ONLY way this would work is if the 95 transmission you removed does not say PWM on the front of the pump cover (behind the torque converter) or if the '94 trans did have it somehow. If your old trans says PWM and the old one does not, they are not interchangeable.

If I couldn't use the trans, then could I use the motor? I will check tomorrow and see if the 95 blazer trans has the PWM on it or not. what does PWM stand for?

Yep. PWM = pulse width modulation which is how the newer transmissions regulate TCC lockup.

so tcc lockup on a pre 95 4l60 was controlled by hydros?

No. It was either locked up or not. Sometime in 95 they added variable lock up using a PWM signal.
