technical name for this part...
I would thing its a oil filter mount. Its the part that you attach the actual oil filter to... mines made of alum and the rusted mounting bolts have corroded the bracket and eatin it up. What a crock. No junkyard has one because I think I may be calling it by the wrong name.
O just wanted to add... I don't typically use junkyard parts but this is not a part that wears or has any moving parts or sensors so I feel its okay

The actual part name is a "oil filter mount adapter" for a 2000 s-10 blazer its gm# is 10236272
And a total lack of thought has went into this part and placement on this vehicle. Thanks for all you guys ideas finally just went got one from the dealer.

price for their lack of thought? to much..
Right around eighty five dollars. Its totally machined out of aluminum. I don't think this site allows posting of photbucket links. To me its twenty to thirty dollars over priced considering they are the turds who thought it would be a good idea to put alum to steel when its exposed to weather from below. oh well the part is on and I had a prob with engine noise. Lifters to be exact.. seafoam did nothing but engine flush did the trick. I suggest everyone doing a engine flush. My oil was amber color cause I drained a bit out to see andwhen it was done it was black as night. all better...
