Default Temp gage not moving

First, hello to all. New blazer owner, not a new GM owner.

I just bought a used 1996 4dr 4x4 Blazer with the 4l60e and 262ci V6. I have noticed that my temperature gage does not change position from off, ignition on, running/driving, and parked/accessory on. It stays just one hash mark to the right of the left edge of the gage.

Is this indicative of a blown thermostat? Or is this another issue? My 1994 k1500 had a similar gage layout and the temp gage always worked on that, so I am familiar with the look/operation of how this gage should be. Is it maybe a wiring issue?

Thanks in advance

Dan

Probably not blown thermostat, just a blown ECT sending unit. A blown thermostat would cause overheating, poor heat transfer, etc..not just a bad gauge.
