If anyone was following this thread, I replaced my t-stat and it did the trick. Before my truck wouldnt even get to 110*.... Now a short drive will get it right up to 200* where it should be. Its running alot better now too!

Very nice! Glad it worked for you. As you have shown, the older trucks are not as sensitive to engine temps when it comes to mileage.

I'm thinking it's time to change the T-Stat on my 2001 Blazer. 129+ on it

Wouldn't hurt a thing.

Do you think I should change it? Or Should I have changed it a while ago?

I am about to replace my thermostat tomorrow. I drove from College Station to Fort Worth and barely got above 100 degrees. Thanks for bringing this up. I thought this might be the problem, but I wasn't sure if it was going to hurt my truck immediately or if it could wait a week. (It has been raining here for a few days.) Consider one more tranny and some fuel saved.

In case anyone was still following this, I did replace my thermostat with a ten dollar fail safe one. My heat is now almost hotter than I can handle and my truck shifts better. Thanks for the advice!
