Default throttle lag and rev limiter?

Hello, I am new to the blazer world And obviously to this forum so if some of the stuff i say dosnt make sense i am sorry. To start off i recently purchased a 2000 blazer 2 door ls (zr2?) and love every thing about it except two things. First off when you first take off the throttle response seems quite slow, almost like a electronic throttle, and then while accelerating if you really step on it. It just acts like it hits a rev limiter right at 3500 rpm and wont shift or anything until you let off the throttle. So im wondering if that might have something to do with like a bad mass air flow sensor or something along those lines because the current one in it does look a bit crusty. Also i should mention where i got it from the place didn't use it so it sat for a while without being driven. Any help appreciated! Thanks

First step is to have the PCM scanned and see if it has any codes in it. Autozone will do it and give you a printout for free. If any codes are present, post them here and we'll see what is going on.

Low fuel pressure/flow could be causing the issue, a fuel pressure test would be next on the list of things to check.

And of course the MAF, TPS, and other sensors could be an issue.

Yes, the first step is to see if the Powertrain Control Module has any trouble codes stored. If anything is out of spec and the computer knows about it, a code should be stored. Unfortunately, the PCM is not all-knowing and a sensor reading could be totally wrong but still within the normal range and not throw a code. Or the problem could be something not monitored by the PCM. But that's where you start in the diagnosis process.
