timing problems on 2000 blazer

timing problems on 2000 blazer
replaced head gaskets, intake gaskets, spark plugs and wires, rotor, distributor cap. set at TDC, distributor was slightly off mark. would that cause a no start condition? should i start over and try to align marks on the distributor perfectly?
