Timing question

Default Timing question

O.K I really need some help! I have three guys trying to tell me that the timing chain dots are not supposed to be lined up like in the book as close to each other as possible. i have the cam gear dot facing the bottom and the crank gear dot facing the top like in my book. is this wrong?? please let me know! I could really use the help!

the cam dot needs to be at 6 oclock and the crank needs to be at 12 oclock see this thread https://blazerforum.com/forum/showth...ng+chain+marks

I knew I set it up right! Know I just have to figure out why it wont start up now!

Make sure its on the compression stroke or you will be 180 degrees off when the distributor is installed.
