torque converter doesn't lock
#11
Update:
Got the scanner today and the only thing I can think of is the TC not locking is directly related to the misfire.
again, clearing the codes locked the tc and then shortly after a pending code comes up and the tc unlocks.
after a bit of playing around with it, locked the TC using the scanner in second gear and under light to moderate throttle the slip was within 2-5rpm, in 4th gear going around 80-90km/h slip was around 10rpm. (haha when we found the command to lock the tc I was stopped on the side of the road in gear and it stalled out the truck almost instantly, oops)
The computer doesn't even request the TC to lockup when there is a misfire code pending or displayed and the TC locks every time it is told to which means the lock selenoid or whatever it is is working properly rueling that out...
Ran some superclean2000(have 2 cases sitting around for some reason) directly through the fuel rail and it didn't do anything for my mis(which is mainily cyl 2 cyl 1 misses a fair bit but not as bad, the rest are pretty good) going to replace cap and rotor again and use the proper acdelco cleaner which is specified in the TSB on sticking poppets and see if that helps, if not an MFI conversion might be my next option...
or do you think I should re-check my ignition switch? is that still a possibility giving the added data I have collected? once in a blue moon when my truck starts it idles extremely low(cold start or whatever it is doesn't kick in) if that helps any?
