Default Trannsmission Problems

Wondering if any one could tell me what problem I have going on? I have a 2001 Blazer 4.3L. when I'm driving down the road my RPM will shoot up into the red but I don't go anywhere! I pull over turn the car off wait a minute or two start it up and it will drive fine. When it does drive, it drives perfect but then it will happen a few miles down the road again.

Have you ever done a tranny fluid change?

If you have ever had the pan off and did a change of the filter you/ someone may not have seated the filter correctly. It sounds almost like the filter drops down and it throws off the fluid movement. When you pull over and restart it gets sucked back up until it falls again.

Ive had 2 used trannys put in so I'm guessing that the fluid has been changed when the mechanic did the work
